Book review :)
Charlaine Harris-Dead until dark
If you are really into those vampire books that are emphasised with mystery, unnatural happenings and murders or deaths then this book is right for you. Definately aimed at teenages -most likely girls- who will love the excitement of an intriguing vampire story that also comes with a serie.
When I first started to read this book, I thought that it was similar to Twilight in some ways. For example in this book the key subjects include vampires, a mindreader and a shapeshifter. Coincidentally the vampire falls in love with the girl and this girl happens to live in a small town, she keeps to herself and also doesn't get out much. Although it may seem a bit like Twilight, this story has a different twist on it. The vampire, Bill, is not the mindreader but the girl, Sookie, is. With chapters filled with complications and deaths, Sookie fears that she will be next.
It is a very exciting, well written, easy to read, and intriguing book that will send your heart racing and interest you to read the following book in the serie - written by Charlaine Harris.

Joseph Kony
Joseph Kony was born in Odek, Northern Uganda, among the Acholi people, in 1961. Joseph Kony is known today for being the leader of the Lords Resistance Army (LRA). The LRA is a belligerent, nasty, offensive group that was formed in 1987 in northern Uganda.
His aunt, Alice Auma started the Holy Spirit Movement. They wanted to bring down the Kampala government. They wanted the Acholi people to take back the capital city of Kampala. They believed that if they did so then the Acholi people would be released from the violence they had caused to the people of the Luwero triangle and there would be peace at last.
Kony claims himself to be the spokesman of god. In 1988, after the movement failed, Kony created a group called the Uganda Christian Democratic Army. The group was created because the Uganda People's Democratic Army (UPDA), which Kony was once a soldier for, signed an agreement with the Ugandan government called the Gulu Peace Accord. Kony did not want to go along with this agreement so him and some other soldiers took off and fought against the government. In 1991 Kony changed the name of the group to the Lords Resistance Army (LRA).
Joseph Kony is now the most wanted man in Africa. The LRA has been named responsible for committing a various amount of crimes such as: murders, rapes, and abductions of children.
His plans, making boys into soldiers and girls into sex slaves. Some children were also sold off to arm dealers. On top of being enslaved, beaten and raped, the abducted children were forced to kill those who had tried to escape. The amount of children that he has abducted is around 30000.
This year Invisible children are commited to putting an end to Joseph Kony. They've made a plan to make these matters known to the whole world and also make it known to people in power like politicians, to get their support so that we may all help and do something about this.

How well can you follow instructions? - Chocolate cake :)
For my how well can you follow instruction, instructions, I made a chocolate cake. I chose to do this because I found this recipe on a Nestle cocoa box while I was on holiday and I was curious to see if it was easy and yummy.
Recipe:3 eggs separated
120g flour
175g sugar
60ml oil
25g cocoa
125ml hot water
10ml baking powder
salt
5ml vanilla essence
method:
- Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.
-Mix cocoa and hot water and allow to cool.
-Combine egg yolk, oil, sugar, vanilla essence and cocoa mixture.
-Add this to dry ingredients and mix well.
-Whip egg whites till stiff and fold into mixture.
-Bake at 180 degrees for 20-30 minutes.
To microwave:
pour in plastic mould on high (80%) for 10-12 minutes (700 watt)
Everything turned out pretty good. It was what I expected. I found the recipe easy to follow. I burned the top of the cake though but it was fine, (I scraped it off hehe). I doubled the recipe and also cut back on the sugar a bit. I made a chocolate icing to go with it. It is a simple chocolate cake that would go extremely well with vanilla ice cream :)
oh and sorry miss kelly, I didn't put up pictures. I could show you from my phone at school though.

Creative Writing - 5554
I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. I pulled it out to see a familiar name appear on my screen. It read ''Emma''. I smiled to myself. Emma had been my girlfriend before we moved to Australia. She was beautiful with long, light, brown hair, and light greenish eyes. We had to break up because our long distance relationship wasn't working out. This was around 2 years ago. I haven't seen Emma for a long time and I have to admit that I do still feel the same way about her.
''Hey Chris, Im hoping to see you later. I hope you can make it.'' ''Yeah, me too.'' I said to myself. Earlier on, I got invited to a pool party at my best friends house. His name's Travis. I really wanted to go but I'm supposed to be on break and being a famous pop star and all doesn't really help. Three years ago Emma forced me to post one of my songs online and three and a half months later I got a call from a music producer.
The last two years of my life has been awesome. I released an album and I was working on my next one just before the holidays started. That's when my parents decided it was time to take a break to visit our friends and family. So now we're back here, supposedly on a break but that's not the case. I have fans following me everytime I step out of this house. Not that I don't love my fans, I wouldn't be here, so successful, without them. I guess that I am mad because the party starts in an hour and I don't know how to get out of here unseen.

Its been half an hour and I am ready to rock and roll. It was a clear night with a new moon. Ben, a close friend was coming to pick me up. When he got here, he parked as close to the front gate as possible. I snuck in the front seat trying to be inconspicuous. The party was on the other side of town, close to the forest. This party meant a lot to me because I haven't seen my friends in a long time. It will feel like old times partying with them again. Plus I couldn't wait to see Emma. After all it was her that pushed me to pursue my singing career. I owed her everything.
When we finally got there, there was a huge crowd outside. Looks like some people found out I was coming. ''WOW'' was all I could say, but luckily I spotted Travis before we reached the gate. He was standing at the forest edge, motioning me to come out. Ben parked the car and got out too. It was weird though Ben didn't walk beside me, he walked behind me. Travis didn't look behind as he led us into the forest. Soon enough I saw a light ahead, then It smelled like burned wood. It was Bonn fire. Emma was there with all my old friends. She stood up and came up to me. She was wearing a huge smile on her face and I probably was too.
I chatted to everyone for a while then some of us went to the party. The party looked awesome. There were people dancing to the loud music, others jumping and splashing in the pool and even some staring at me like their eyes would soon fall out. I spent most of the night there until Emma wanted to go for a walk to catch up properly. We walked slowly through the forest when Emma tripped over something. I caught her just in time before she fell. I took out my phone to get some light.
I shined it over the thing she tripped over. It looked like a leg. Emma and I gasped at the same time. Emma ran back to the party. I was freaked out. A moment passed, I then looked closer and I realised it was Travis. Suddenly I heard foot steps behind me. I turned around and I saw Ben walking behind Emma, his arm stuck to her back. Emma's expression probably mirrored mine.
Her eyes were so round and big, and her mouth was opened a little. Ben's face was plain and simply hard. He was ready but we weren't.

My holiday :)
During the second weekend of the holidays, me, my dad and brother took a plane to Hong Kong,China for a stay of 2 days. We visited the surrounding places, ate Chinese food, bought things made in China, while in CHINA :) We even had the chance to spend a day in Disneyland.
The following week, my brother and I took a plane to Mauritius. So Mauritius is a tropical Island located in the south-west of the Indian Ocean. It is an independent country and was the home of the Dodo bird. Mauritius is a lot of fun, the beaches of Mauritius are blue, with white sand and also most of the time in summer the temperature is up to 30 degrees. Not only that but also, me and my brother hadn't been back home since 2006 and we felt a bit homesick.
We spent Christmas eve with my mums side of the family and Christmas day with my dads. That was the first day seeing all my extended family. It was amazing to see how all my cousins have all grown up and matured over just 5 years and also how much they haven't changed a bit! We spent New Years eve with my dads side this time and we had a big dinner and watched and set off our own fireworks. The next up coming weeks were just full, packed with fun that its just too much to explain! We did a lot of shopping and we went to the beach a lot too. Oh and don't get me started on all the delicious foods we ate!I will always descibe my holiday as the bestest holiday ever! It was great to see and spend time with our family, friends and our home again. Doing something like this, I've learnt that there is so much more to the world and life, than just here and now.
