The greatest moment in the Olympic history was when...
When I asked my dad, what, in his opinion was the greatest moment in Olympic history he looked up to the ceiling, in his thinking mode and said "the greatest moment in the Olympic was when... Carl Lewis won 6 gold medals." I thought, well that's great but I still didn't understand why it was the greatest moment in history. So I replied saying " really? But how's that the greatest moment?" Then he said "Well no one has done that ever again, have they?"
But he was wrong. Really Carl Lewis has won 10 medals at the Olympics, 9 of which being gold medals, and 4 of those won for the 100m, 200m, 4×1000m relay and long jump at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics Games.
Carl Lewis has set world records in 100 m, 4×100 m and 4×200 m relays.
Some people even reckon that he is the greatest Olympian ever.
From what I've heard about Carl Lewis and the research that I've done I'd say that the greatest moment in Ancient history was when Carl Lewis won 4 gold medals at the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles and 10 medals in total from his time in the Olympic Games.
But the the greatest moment in Olympic history, so far, would be when Michael Phelps won 8 gold medals at the Beijing Olympics in 2008 in swimming. Michael Phelps nicknames as 'MP,The Baltimore Bullet, and/or Flying Fish' has won 14 gold olympic medals in total. Michael Phelps holds the record for the most gold medals won in a single Olympics. A lot of people would argue that Carl Lewis was indeed the greatest Olympian in history but based on the medals that each of them has won, Michael Phelps is the winner and probably one of the greatest Olympic swimmers yet.

Collaborative Story :)
This story carries on from Alexis click here to check the beginning.
I think they have me confused with the other me. Well this should be interesting...
... because on top of everything else I don't even have a license. This day should be marked as the worse day of my life, yet. The machine connected to the old man in the back is making a beeping sound. About half a dozen police cars are chasing me now. Oh man! I don't want to be arrested for the murder of that old man too. I am freaking out. What am I doing? Then something pops into my head, I remember what happened. It was her. My twin. I think that she may be evil, like the total opposite of me. Probably more organised too, and good at fooling people 'cause she fooled me. The gun must have injected some kind of poison or drug into me to forget what had happened.
It all happened at that marathon. I heard a gun shot, thinking that it was for the runners in the marathon, a sign for them to start runnning but then I realised that it was coming from behind me. As I search the crowd for something suspicous, the people around me start to scream and run in the opposite direction. I keep going forwards, towards the gun shot that I heard and I see her. She's holding a gun in her hand and she shoots again, aiming straight for the heart. Bad choice I thought. She sees me coming and quickly throws the gun at me. I'm stupid enough to catch it as she winks at me, I stare after her in horror. Bewildered and shocked, I throw the gun to the ground. From the corner of my eye I see cops running through the crowd. Ohh crap! I can't be arrested in this place, who will come to bail me out? Nobody, then I'll be stuck in Manurewa wonderland forever.
No. Not going to happen....

3 Day Episode :)
In my 3 day episode the students will have the opportunities to make movies where they will act, direct, edit the whole thing themselves. I would call it film producing or something along those lines. The movie they create and produce are not allowed to be longer than 15 minutes.
Day one is the planning day. The students will get in a group of at least 3 and a maximum of 6. They will plan out their movie and plan out who's doing what. If they finish planning then they may start filming anywhere around the school. If the students want to get out of the school to do their filming they must inform the teacher in charge. The teacher will need to prepare letters to send home for the next day and one of the helping teachers can take them.
The independent qualities that they will use and develop are: creativity because they will need to use their imaginations to come up with ideas for their movie. Collaboration because the students will be working in groups and if they don't work together then nothing will get done. Enterprising because they will need to use their initiative, take on a task with difficulty and act on opportunities to develop new ideas. Persevering considering that they need to be focused on what they are doing to have a good outcome. Also joyful because I want the students to enjoy themselves and have fun while learning.

Day two is the main filming day. Students will do most or all of their filming on this day and if they finish they can start editing.
Day three is the finishing day. Students will need to finish their editing by the middle of the 2nd period so that they can present what they've done over the three days for the rest of the day.

New Skills that they will learn: How to edit footage and how to use video cameras.

BNZ writing competition?
I unfolded the humid towel as my mum finished washing the last plate. I reached for it and wiped it dry. “Are you excited for your first day of school tomorrow?” “Hm, I guess so.” I replied. “Are you scared that you won’t make any friends?” “Mum, I am too good looking to not make any friends.” I joked around, but she totes knew I was right.
“Hi everyone my name is Ian” I said in my cheerful, fabulous voice. I wove my hand through my thick golden hair and squinted my brown eyes against the sun shining in my eyes from the back windows. I was standing in front of the whiteboard waiting for my queue to sit down. “Thank you Ian, you may now take a seat” I scanned the room looking for an empty seat before walking down the middle aisle where I caught the most beautiful eyes in the room. She was so checking me out I said to myself. I tried to play it cool by winking at her but then I tripped over a bag sitting in the middle of the room. The class roared with laughter as I pulled myself together and sat at an empty table at the back of the classroom. I could feel my face burning. What a terrible start to my first day at Oakmont high. Doesn't matter I said, they'll all see how cool I am in just a minute.
“Hey 'sup? I'm Peter,” Said the guy sitting next to me. “Sup, I'm Ian” I whispered. Peter looked like he played basketball. He was the tallest guy in this room. He had short black hair and this huge nose. He had a medium built and was slightly tanned. ''Real smooth what you did just then'' he said in a cheeky voice. ''Ashley’s not exactly the nicest fish in the sea by the way, not exactly easy to get either.'' I watched her flip her long, wavy, light brown hair out of her face. Unfortunately nice and pretty don't always go together but that doesn't matter.
I smiled to myself. “Watch this then” I replied to Peter. I opened my book to the middle page and started writing. On the front page I wrote: ‘Ashley.’ I scratched my head for a smooth pick up line. I smiled as an idea popped into my mind. I hoped that she would be able to understand my writing. I wrote it down, then signed my name at the bottom and folded the pages in half showing Ashley’s name on top. I got out of my seat and crawled on the floor to the middle of the room where her desk was located in the class. I managed to put the note on the table but by the time I got back to my seat the whole class was staring at me. Dumbfounded like I was, the teacher confronted me about what I just did. I lied and said that my pen fell onto the floor.
Next thing I knew she was demanding Ashley for the note. It looked as if she gladly handed it over to her, but I could be wrong. The teacher opened the note and read it out loud for everyone to hear. “My love for you is like diarrhoea, I just can’t hold it in, wrote Ian.” She said in deep voice, a voice that was supposed to mimic mine. The class rumbled around me. Every single pair of eyes in this room was now looking my way, I grinned widely, thinking that I had good luck for always looking this good, even in the worse cases ever. “Do you have an explanation for this Ian?” I shook my head from side to side. “This is not the best start ever Ian, I expect better behaviour than this. It is your first day here after all.”
My phone started vibrating in my pocket. ‘BEEP, BEEP, BEEP...’ it made. It went on and on like that. No one seemed to notice though. The teacher kept talking but I didn’t listen. I couldn’t keep my eyes from her big blue ones. I tried to go for the wink again. She made a grimace that seemed like a cute smile then turned away. “Okay detention for you at lunch Ian.” The class made an ‘ooooouuuuu’ sound. My ears felt hot then. “BEEP, BEEP, BEEP...”
I woke up startled as hell. It took me a minute to understand that I was dreaming. It was nearly 7 o’clock and my alarm was going off like crazy. I reached for my phone, turning it off. I then realised that today is my first day at Oakmont high and I hoped that It wouldn’t turn out like the dream I just had. Wow, I thought, am I really that much of a jerk?

She is a teacher at middle school - so I think she is from America - by day and during her free time she is cooking in her kitchen, making yuuuummy looking and tasting stuff. She started this blog to record her journey when cooking, like her recipes I guess, and also to expand her photography skills. Jamie's blog looks very professional; she has pictures of her recipes and you click on it to read them. I think I might actually try one of her recipes in the future :)
